Glasson Dock, is located North of Preston, off the A6 - MAP - The ride in along the B5272 and the A588 is a nice twisty ride-out, features of Glasson dock, are the butty van, and the ride into Glasson itself. It is true that it is a very pretty place to go for a brew on a ride-out, but, it's a little out of the way unless you are heading to other local areas, such as Knott End etc.
The lock keepers rest butty van as you arrive at the dock, is on hand to make tea, coffee, and the usual butties etc, it isn't gormet food, but, it's well priced and the people that run the place are friendly. There isn't really a "Bike Night" at Glasson, generally, local people, from Preston, Lancaster Etc, pop along, for a brew and to enjoy the ride into Glasson on an evening, beware though that the cafe / butty van is closed during the winter.
Some bikers based in the North do travel some distance to get to it, to take a look around the village, and the dock, which is pretty, but to be fair their really isn't that much to hold your attention once you have seen it all!
Glasson is basically a cul-de-sac - Once you get there, you have to from where you came to go anywhere else.
