NUKB's Guide to Biking in the North Of England

White Scar Caves - Ride-Out Stop Off point

White Scar Caves, is located on the B6255, between Ingleton and Hawes (MAP)

Along with a brilliant Cafe, serving all manner of food, from Breakfasts to Sunday lunches, the caves themselves are pretty amazing.

From a biking perspective, the Ingleton to Hawes Road is on a great ride-out route, which is easily accesible from Devils Bridge.

The road is an excellent one, although keep an eye out for those mobile speed camera units. The above picture is of a group of NUKB members on a north uk ride-out, which was featured in Ride Magazine

Ingleton

Ingleton is situated just off the A65 Skipton to Kendal road, 25 miles from both of those towns. Parking is available in the village, and garage services are available on the main A65 road. Another good stop off point on a north uk ride-out, ingleton has good facilities, including cafe's and public toilets. Most people use Ingleton as a stop off point on a north uk ride-out to hawes, or beyond.

Hawes is another great stop off point, on a ride-out, plenty to see and do, facilities include a public toilets, and plenty of pubs, and the Penny Garth cafe, which is mainly where bikers stop for a brew and something to eat, they have an extensive menu, and it's open all year round.

The ride into Hawes is a great one with twisty bendy roads on the way in. (MAP)
