About Us
In 2004, North UK Bikers was born from an idea, with originality in it's running, and it's ethos. That ethos being community, thorough local meets, fun, through ride-outs, and a basic desire to unite the north UK's bikers in one place. In the 3.5 years that NUKB has been running, we have some 1300+ members, and have run ride outs with as few as 4, and as many as 100 attendees, we have had 2 trips to Ireland, one to Scotland, (which will become a regular trip!) and we have run 251 Ride-Outs.
Our rides during the "Season", generally occur every weekend, and for those lucky enough to be able to get out during the week, we run, a regular midweek ride-out, on Wednesday evening
Our ride-outs can start from Lancs, Yorks,& the North East, and can go just about anywhere!
Having run, 52 ride-outs during season 2005, and as of Christmas 06, 76 ride-outs in 2006, and 123 throughout 2007, We have run the most ride-outs of any other club in the North UK.
We don't charge for membership, and there are no "Sponsors". We don't ask for any money whatsoever, and we don't withhold any features of the site, from anyone - everything is FREE from the word go!
Join us, and be part of the North UK's No.1 Ride-Out site and club, we have ride-outs for everyone, no matter what you ride, or even if you don't, and we welcome bikers / enthusiasts from all walks of life, and from all backgrounds, there are no requirements to attend meetings, or ride-outs if they don't suit you.
We understand that different styles of bikes are suited to different rides, for instance, we wouldn't expect a supermoto rider to go on a long ride-out to say Wales, We treat our members with as much respect as we expect in return, and we expect nothing more than you contribute to the site, as often as you want to, or are able to.
We don't send out spam, there is a single email per month that has site news, and you can contact us at any time if you do not want to receive it, we don't send out pointless PM's asking for personal details, the only personal details that we hold, consist of your email address, and a cookie on your computer.
How NUKB works :-
We have a system of ride-out leaders, who are our more experienced riders, who run ride-outs throughout the North UK, we have leaders in lancashire, Yorkshire, and the North East. We also have Ride Assistants, these are members who are willing to mark corners, back mark, or ride with new members or riders.
Rides are posted on our forum, either by members or our leaders, members are invited to lead there own ride-outs if possible, and eventually become ride leaders themselves.
All our ride-outs are graded, so that members know the type of ride-out / pace that is expected.
RED…Technical - Progressive - Experienced - Distance - Not many stops
AMBER……...Similar hard section - Testing in areas - More stops - Pillion Can be taken
GREEN……….Learners and new riders - Pillions and new pillions - Lots of stops - Scenic
NUKB has several other features, such as Personal messages, where you can send messages to other members, a shout box, and a chat room.
